Christmas Assistance

Need a little extra help with Christmas this year? Reach out to the Salvation Army Ministry Unit in your area for more information.

The Salvation Army works in partnership with the Christmas Bureau of Edmonton to support families in need during the holiday season.



This program, and partnership with the Christmas Bureau is intended to provide support to families, individuals and seniors in need. Our program is not intended to be a doubling up or topping up of Christmas services already provide. Our programs are funded through community donations and are not governed by or an extension of any government programs.



Our objective, mirrors the Christmas Bureau's, "to be able to assist ten families once, rather than one family ten times".

To book an in person appointment with The Salvation Army Edmonton Temple, please call the office (780-469-6846). Appointments will be booked between November 12-December 5.


All Christmas Assistance packages must be picked up at our location (9115 75 ST NW Edmonton).


Requirements:

  1. Applicants must be a resident of the City of Edmonton, within our postal code reach (T6A, T6B, T6C, T6E, T6G, T6H, T6I, T6K, T6L, T6M, T6N, T6P, T6R, T6S, T6W, T6X). For those living outside our postal code reach, please contact the Salvation Army Ministry Area. For those residing outside the corporate limits of Edmonton, please visit 211.ca for assistance in your region.

  2. Combined household income is taken into consideration.

  3. Only those permanently residing in the household are eligible for assistance. Visiting family/friends are not eligible. Identification is required for everyone on the application.

  4. Those residing in a designated facility (e.g.: nursing home, group home, shelter) or in a residence where meals are provided are not eligible for assistance.

Household Income

Please provide information regarding your COMBINED household income. (Example: Pay Stubs, E.I, W.C.B, Alberta Supports, A.I.S.H)

Proof of residency

Please provide proof of Edmonton residency within our postal code reach. (Example: Utility bill; Lease Agreement (Page 1, Page 2 and last page of agreement)

ID for all individuals on the application form

Please include ID with birth dates for everyone on the application. (Example: Alberta Health Care card; Birth Certificate, School ID)
